From old to new – the depot revamp
October 28, 2009This year has seen our Daventry depot undergo a major transformation.
The premesis at Hackwood Road was bought in 1988 and after 20 years of being a hive of activity it was time for a facelift.
Rather than work on the depot over a number of years it was determined that we should improve things in one go.
We needed a yard and shop that was easy for both trade and DIY customers to use, and seperate the warehouse (for boards and heavyside materials) from the main shop. The roof was also in need of repair so we took it off. And then after enjoying the sunlight in our offices we put a new one back on.
Over the course of a few months through January, February and March the roof came down, kitchen showroom taken apart, new shop floor laid out, and block wall built to seperate warehouse. A new open plan sales office was also constructed next to the counter. Finally, a kitchen and bathroom showroom was put together and we celebrated the completion of the depot revamp with an open day which was well attended.
The pictures above show the new counter being constructed and then the finished job, while below are various views from inside and outside the depot.
