All our TBS branches have displays of kitchens and bathrooms, with brochures from suppliers and some expert advice on hand.
Hayley Woods is our new Kitchen and Bathroom Specialist at Towcester. Here’s what she had to say when we got her off the phone…
TBS offers a kitchen design service. Tell us about it.
I can visit a customer at home and sound them out on their dream kitchen. We can look at brochures, or maybe they’ve seen something they like on display.
I take lots of measurements, then back at my desk I use Computer-Aided Design software to see how it can all fit together and look its best.
The customer can then see virtual, full-colour photos of how their kitchen is going to look. It’s usually an exciting moment for them!
In these tough economic times, does a new kitchen or bathroom make sense?
It’s always a major selling point for a property, and it can transform the feel of your home if you’re not in a position to sell. And certainly in this area, some new building is still going on and people are having extensions, sometimes with a bathroom or an en suite.

What about facilities for people with less mobility?
We can provide wet rooms and walk-in baths, with all the necessary grab rails and fittings. We can even order a hoist if the customer needs one.
Underfloor heating is a good option to consider. It’s cosy and you don’t need a radiator – that means more space and less things to bump into.
For kitchens, we can offer wheelchair access fridges and ovens, as well as adjustable ‘rise and fall’ work tops.
