Upgrade Your Boiler for Efficient, Affordable Heat
August 19, 2011Any time now the cooler weather will be upon us, so it’s time to think about winter warmth.
What about your boiler? It may have been working fine, but is it up to the latest specifications? Today, any new boiler has to be Band A. Older boilers can become inefficient, and there may be problems sourcing spare parts.
Have you thought about an upgrade? A new boiler will:
- save you money
- be more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly
- improve your household efficiency rating (which is a good move, even if you’re thinking of selling).
TBS is proud to be a stockist for the ATMOS Intercombi boiler. It’s a wall-mounted, high-efficiency, condensing gas boiler, originally designed for the social housing market in The Netherlands. With over 500,000 produced over the last 12 years, the Inter boiler has proved itself as a robust, high reliability, low maintenance, and long lasting boiler.
The ATMOS Intercombi 32HE has a robust cast aluminium heat exchanger, which is guaranteed for 10 years. One Dutch installer claims to have fitted 22,000 of these boilers without a single heat exchanger failure.
The Intercombi has separate water channels for central heating and hot water. This allows it to condense on the hot water feed, meaning that it uses less water and less electricity. The manufacturer estimates an average household saving of £200 a year on bills compared with other boilers.
There are fewer things to go wrong. For example, the Intercombi doesn’t use a diverter valve.
A soft-start burner programme means that it runs almost silently.
What’s more, the ATMOS Intercombi HE32 integrates easily with Solar energy systems. Click here to find out more about the new ATMOS Easy Solar energy system.
All this comes at an affordable price. So contact our Sales team at any TBS branch for more information about ATMOS heating systems, and to find about any special deals.

The atmos boilers are outstanding. Very efficient and long lasting (they say you can expect 20 years from one of these beauties which says a lot for the vaillant turbomax 25 i just binned at home after only 3 1/2 years and the diverter valve went which is very expensive to replace and a motherboard fault also very expensive.
There is (virtually) nothing inside the boiler to wrong.
They are solar compatible coupled with the ATMOS solar panel which incorporates a “DRAIN BACK SYSTEM”) Which means there is no need for a seperate pump and antifreeze (glycol) station as there is nothing in the panel to freeze as it all drains back to the storage cylinder when it has reached the temperature you selected.
The boiler is rated at 31.5 kw output but if for example you only want 18 kw you can change the maximum output by entering a code when commissioning the boiler and it will only run at that output Unlike other combi boilers which will still run at their maximum output and cost you money.
Also the pump will only run in heating mode ( unlike other combi’s) where the pump will run regardless and cost you money into the bargain.
The savings are on the running cost and being more efficient to run.
Also the ATMOS combi doesn’t rely on being pressurised as All other comb’s do ,so if you lose pressure on a normal combi it will break down in an expensive way.
You also get hot water at mains pressure whereas all other combis you get a pathetic little spurt (especially when filling the bath.
The boiler also has a learning mode where it will remember your useage pattern and adapt to it , so you get up at 7 am every day, after a couple of days it learns this and fires up at 10 minutes beforhand so when you turn on the tap hey presto instant hot water.
Great article, people should seriously consider upgrading because they could save up to £280 per year on energy bills and the last thing people want is their boiler packing in if it is as cold this year as it was last year.
We just moved into a new house & it has one of these boilers , condensate tank pump broke down on it, ordered the part wednesday part arrived thursday boiler back up and running thursday afternoon, As the other article said there very little to go wrong, This boiler is almost silent we have checked to see if the boiler is on in the last few week’s, Downside we have insurance by british gas and 2 engineers had no idea what the boiler was ….
so a little tip have the hand book handy and evern then they still may not touch (like ours)
out of 10
a easy 8.5
This is helpful. Thank you. It’s certainly surprising that the Atmos Combi isn’t better known, being such a cracking boiler. Perhaps this is the place for a plug for the FREE TRAINING COURSE FOR ATMOS HEATING SYSTEMS – details here
