Derelict Building Becomes Art – Here’s How They Did It

March 21, 2017

Now here‘s something you don’t see every day! An artist and a local council have worked together to turn a derelict house into a work of art.

The house, in the Cliftonville area of Margate, UK, had been compulsorily purchased by the council after years as an eyesore. When local artist Alex Chinneck came forward with the idea of turning it into an artwork, they jumped at it.

If you click on this link, Artist Makes Margate House ‘Slide’ Into Street, you can see how the building team went about it and what materials they used, as well as as the artist himself discussing why he did it.

Well played, sir, we say!
