Laying a Wood Floor on Concrete? Don’t Forget to Moisture Seal!

May 9, 2017

lumberjack-m.b-primer-500x500When laying a timber floor on top of concrete, you have to factor in the moisture that can come through the substrate. In time, it can warp and twist the boards.

The answer is a moisture barrier primer. Right now, TBS Daventry branch is trialling one from Everbuild’s Lumberjack range. It’s a solvent-free, one part, polyurethane liquid resin.  It blocks moisture in damp screeds, and helps to bind the surface of weak screeds.

Lumberjack MB Primer improves adhesion for flooring adhesives like Everbuild Lumberjack 650 Hardwood Flooring Adhesive. It also makes a great patching mortar for small cracks and holes (mix it with sand at a ratio of 1:9).
